During the occupation of Kherson after the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, all classes, projects and communication that we organized for our teenagers and young people stopped. But the members of our organization, like the vast majority of Kherson residents, did not want to put up with the fact that the “Russian peace” was being imposed on them and went to protest meetings on the main square of the city, despite the threatening consequences. And on April 2, 2022, we were not afraid to hold the traditional “Light it up blue” campaign on the occasion of International Autism Awareness Day in one of the squares in the center of Kherson, combining the blue symbols of autism with Ukrainian flags and pictures.

On 9th June 2022, the members of our organization, who did not leave the city, had a dangerous “adventure” to save the sports equipment that was left in the DKT building captured by the orcs. You can find information in the section “They write about us” about the members of “Autism. A Unique Universe” how they lived, volunteered, and even participated in partnership during the occupation.
